project synopsis
cease + desist is an entity whose mission is to personify the energy and spirit of music produced with the listener in mind, not commercial intent. cease + desist pursues a more personable interaction with their listeners. Each band member has become an integral link of the culture in which they exist. We've moved from passive observation to participatory action in order to give back to a community who has provided so much.
cease + desist seeks to revitalize the spirit of generations of groundbreaking musicians that promoted individuality and challenged the social attitudes of their time.
Their music is provocative, enticing, and shocking. Music that which transformed current social attitudes and, ultimately, our way of life, often times by revealing social inequalities and analyzing conflict. cease + desist continues on with this philosophy of transformation. Given today's global climate, this is more pertinent than ever.
In an age of increasing media restriction, cease + desist is a part of a greater community that disputes traditional means of information and entertainment distribution. cease + desist hopes to move music from the surplus and restrictions of a regulated arena to the enlightened and integral close knit communities that include individuals who understand music is an explorative process, not mere consumption. cease + desist encourages the shared experience and personal enjoyment of listening to music and, consequently, facilitating new ideas.
